Krill Oil Scam

You see, while you may have heard krill oil manufacturers “boast” that krill is 48 times more potent and powerful than fish oil, they’re intentionally only telling you a very small part of the story.  While krill does indeed contain 48xs more antioxidants than fish oil through the extremely potent antioxidant, astaxanthin, that is inherent to krill, people take fish oil for the Omega-3 fatty acids, not the antioxidants…

In reality, krill oil supplements often contain drastically lower levels of the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA than fish oil supplements, delivering a level of each that is far below the scientifically effective dose of 2,000mg/day.

Again, the scientific dose of Omega-3 fatty acids is 2000mg per day, which is the daily dose that has been shown to yield all the great benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids such as heart health, memory, focus, skin, joint, vision, weight management, mood enhancement, pain relief, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging benefits just to name a few.

If the scientific dose is 2000mg per day, what kind of benefit do you think you’re going to receive by consuming 120mg per day?  That’s right, not much!  Simply put, if you are using a krill oil supplement for the Omega-3 benefits, I’m afraid you’re truly wasting your money…

Now, does this mean that krill oil is totally worthless?  Not quite… as noted, krill oil has great antioxidant benefits.  Unfortunately, krill falls terribly short on omega-3 content.

Research clearly shows DHA to be the king of Omega-3 fatty acids, providing all the health benefits of EPA and many more exclusive to DHA, including greater bone density, greater eye health, greater belly-fat burning, greater release of fat-burning hormones, and greater brain and cognitive health.  In fact, DHA is the predominant Omega-3 fatty acid found in the brain, representing 97% of all fatty acids in the brain.

Beyond that, DHA has been shown through research to have a profound effect on heart health through its cholesterol and triglyceride-lowering abilities, while EPA has been shown to have little effect on these health markers.

Bottom line: if a fish oil product contains more EPA than DHA (99% do), it is a far inferior product lacking the vast majority of health benefits that can only be obtained with much higher DHA levels.

Simply put, with research suggesting that Omega-3 supplementation is even more important to your health than taking a daily multi-vitamin, and the fact the Omega-3 fatty acids possess more health, weight management, and anti-aging benefits than ANY other single compound in existence, we truly believe EVERYONE should be taking an Omega-3 supplement daily, ongoing, to ensure optimal levels of this protective “super nutrient” in your body at all times.
