Coconuts and Your Workouts

For years now, coconuts have gotten a bad rap, mainly because of the saturated fat content.

However, over and over research has shown that the saturated fats in coconuts do in fact INCREASE your fat burning. 

Coconuts, and coconut oil specifically, is easily digested and absorbed by your body and can be quickly converted into energy. 

In one study, researchers found that the fats in coconut oil actually help burn OTHER fats in your body and increases your metabolic rate, which in turn leads to lowering your body fat levels. 

And even better, coconut oil allows the body to retain your hard earned lean muscle, which again leads to more efficient fat burning. 

This is part of the reason physique competitors, athletes, and more use this stuff to reduce body fat levels while making sure they keep their lean muscle.

Now, when it comes to coconuts, here’s the best items you can start using to boost fat burning immediately:

 

  1. Coconut Oil (use for cooking and/or in your coffee/smoothies)
  2. Coconut Butter (use for cooking)
  3. Whole Coconuts (consume it all… Expect the bark LOL!)
  4. Coconut Water (I use this after workouts for hydration purposes)
  5. Coconut Flakes (add this to desserts!)

All good stuff here.

For me, I use coconut oil almost daily and try to drink coconut water during and after my workouts.
