Blueberries – 52 Pesticides?

Admittedly, as healthy as I’d like to think I am, I’m not a big fruit eater. In fact, my fruit choices are pretty limited to apples and bananas.

What can I say? I never really developed a taste for them.

What about you?

If you do love fruit  you need to be careful about the fruit you eat.

Why?

One word:

PESTICIDES.

That’s why you should only buy organic fruit.

Again, you probably think I’m sounding alarmist.

Possibly.

Then again, according to the USDA, it’s not uncommon for conventional blueberries to contain the residues of 52 – yeah – you read that correctly – 52 different pesticides.

Not one or two or even three – FIFTY-TWO!

One of them is called “Iprodione” and it’s a known carcinogen and hormone disruptor.

Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?

This is just one of the 52 reasons you should ALWAYS buy blueberries and other berries that are organic, wild-grown, or locally farmed by a farm that doesn’t use pesticides and herbicides.
