Mostly thanks to Dr. Oz, there has been a lot of buzz around 2 herbal diet pills lately : Garcinia Cambogia (HCA) and Green Coffee Extract. The research is showing that they can help with weight loss and appear to be safe……………..Not so fast!
My advice : Don’t waste your time with diet pills if you haven’t been consistently doing the basics.
There are no short cuts, the magic pill doesn’t exist. In the end if you want to live everyday in a lean, sexy body, you still have to do the work.
You know what you should be eating (if you don’t please ask).
It will take a minimum of 80% compliance of good nutritional habits to see significant results. For some it may take 90% and the more you lose the tougher it gets to lose more.
Where to start: Tracking.
You need to be tracking your compliance to give an honest account of how you’ve been doing. Tracking is as simple as a food log, or my favorite method: a spreadsheet with a daily “Yes” or “No” for each meal.
It is either a fat burning friendly meal (protein, vegetables, high fiber carbs etc.), a “Yes”, or its not getting you closer to your goals (cookies, bread, milk, pasta, sugar anything), a “No”.
At the end of each week/ month give yourself a score. How many Yes’s and how many No’s. You need the Yes’s to be a minimum of 80% of your meals.
The more Yes’s you get the faster your results.
