You may not think of sprints as an “ab exercise”, but take a moment to think about your abs when you are sprinting as fast as you can…
What are they doing?
If you are sitting there imagining your abs staying incredibly TIGHT throughout the sprint, you’d be correct.
When you sprint, your core is what keeps you upright, tight throughout, and engaged in the 10-20 seconds of intense work.
If your core isn’t tight, you would be flopping all over the place during the exercise.
And strengthen and getting your abs ripped aren’t all sprints are good for…
=> Sprints are the ultimate fat burning hormone booster…
=> Sprints prey on belly fat like a lion on the hunt.
=> Sprints aid in the growth of lean muscle while eliminating fat at the same time.
=> Sprints keep your workouts short and too the point, bring you better results than long slow cardio. (trust me, I’ve tested this…)
=> Sprints energize your body and mind for HOURS after you are finished…
In short, sprinting speeds up results and gets you super lean fast.
Now if sprinting seems too advanced, keep this in mind…
Sprints can be defined as “certain exercises that are done at your highest intensity for a short period of time, followed by a short rest and repeat.”
For starters, you can start out doing jumping jacks or mountain climbers. Or even jogging in place will work.
As you progress, maybe sprinting at 70% of your full speed or jumping rope or burpees will work.
Then as you get more comfortable, you can progress into full speed sprints, sprints in place, double unders, quick burpees, etc.
Go at your own fitness level and build up.
Just be sure to push yourself for that short period of time, rest and repeat.
