A Crossfit Inspired Workout

CrossFit has got some crazy a$$ workouts… Have you ever seen some of the stuff they post?

Although I am not a big fan of many CrossFit workouts, I do enjoy some from time to time…

What I like more though is CrossFit INSPIRED workouts…

Workouts that take the CrossFit principles and make them… Well, a little safer 🙂

I’ve known far too many people get hurt from workouts simply because they try doing something that is too challenging too fast…

​This isn’t a knock on CrossFit… It’s more of a knock on trainers that don’t take into account a certain persons fitness level…

Anyway, I digress…

The one thing I will say about CrossFit is it delivers results

And as much as people hate on it… The PHILOSOPHIES behind their training are spot on…

There’s a reason many people can lose up to 2% body fat in the first 7-days…

Anyway, the workout below is NOT for the faint of heart… Hence the name “Death By Burpee” 🙂

This one is definitely CrossFit inspired…

Here’s what you’ll do, using the same weight for the 3 weighted exercises:

Round One:

5 Barbell Squats

5 Deadlifts

5 Overhead Press

25 Burpees

Round Two:

5 Barbell Squats

5 Deadlifts

5 Overhead Press

20 Burpees

Round Three:

5 Barbell Squats

5 Deadlifts

5 Overhead Press

15 Burpees

Round Four:

5 Barbell Squats

5 Deadlifts

5 Overhead Press

10 Burpees

Round Five:

5 Barbell Squats

5 Deadlifts

5 Overhead Press

5 Burpees

And DONE! Oh my goodness, that was brutal. That’s a total of 75 burpees.

And your goal is to finish this workout as quickly as possible. 

This is a great way to combine your strength and cardio into the same workout… Just like many of the CrossFit workouts do. And the reason for that…
